The International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) will be organising an international forum entitled “Together Towards Global Green Supply Chains – A Forest Products Industry Initiative” from 22-25 October 2019 in Shanghai and Huzhou, China.
The Forum is an initiative of the forest industry sector to promote nature-based solutions within the global efforts to implement the UN Sustainable Development Goals by advancing legal and sustainable supply chains.
These supply chains will then incentivize responsible production and purchasing practices while also leading to additional benefits in poverty alleviation, the creation of employment, economic growth, income generation and substantial climate-change mitigation. There will also be B2B meetings between importers and wood suppliers.
The Forum is co-organised by the China Timber and Wood Products Distribution Association (CTWPDA), the Centre for International Forest Products Trade (CINFT) of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration of China (NFGA) and the International Tropical Timber Technical Association (ATIBT).
