Malaysian Furniture Industry CouncilThe Malaysian Furniture Industry Council (MFIC) was formerly known as the The Federation of Malaysian Furniture Manufacturers and Traders Association (FMFMTA). Founded in 1978, it is the official national trade body representing the general interests of the Malaysian furniture manufacturers and exporters. In 1991, FMFMTA was renamed MFIC. In recent years, MFIC, with the assistance of the government and its statutory bodies has grown rapidly and contributes significantly to the overall economic growth of the country. MFIC has gained prominent recognition in the global market and strives further to make Malaysia the most promising furniture manufacturing centre in the world. Today, MFIC has a direct membership of more than 300 companies comprising mainly of furniture manufacturers and exporters. Through its Chartered Membership, which are represented by State associations, it has more than 1,500 indirect members throughout the country.
