Malaysian Wood Moulding And Joinery Council
The Malaysian Wood Moulding Council (MWMC) was established under the
Registrar of Companies Act, Malaysia, 1965. It was first incorporated in
February, 1981. In 1996, the name of the Council was changed to the Malaysian
Wood Moulding and Joinery Council (MWMJC).
The objectives of MWMJC are as follows:
- To promote the manufacture and processing of wood mouldings, picture
frames, parquet, flooring timber and joinery; to excourage its use and
export; and to conduct research and development with the aim of improving
the standard, quality and techniques in manufacturing and production;
- To represent and protect the interests of downstream manufacturers and
exporters and to encourage greater cooperation amongst its members;
- To review legislation, rules, by-laws and regulations of the Council;
- To provide and support trade fair and exhibitions as well as to organize
and finance conferences, seminars, lecturers and meetings relating to wood
moulding;
- To print, publish and circularize newsletters, periodicals, books and
journals to build a library of books connected with wood mouldings in
particular and the timber industry in general;
- To consider and approve applications for membership to the Council and to
maintain an up-to-date register of all Ordinary and Associate Members of the
Council; and
- To collect funds, write, promote issues and appeals and solicit
subscriptions, donations and requests for the fulfillment of the objects of
the Council and by such other means as determined by the Board of Directors.
